Beta Brilliant (Aka SRB)

Gemcad by Jeff Ford

Pre-Master stone USFG 2008 competition

This is cubic zirconium so you have a problem with polish for competition. I polished with 50 thousand diamond with a Batt lap after a 1200 pre polish. Not a competition polish. I have good luck polishing first with 100 thousand on ceramic and then come back and do it all over again with 200 thousand on ceramic. Paul Head gets great results on CZ with 100 thousand dry on Batt after a 3,000 pre polish on Batt. If you can get an Oxide to work for you even better.

What can I say about cutting an SRB other than the challenge of meet points and polish. You will find that it is not as easy as you may expect when cutting for competition. Pick a light color or clear, you still have to size it properly at 11mm and set girdle at .03mm.
